St. Paul Farmers' Market

The St. Paul Farmers' Market is a great place to find fresh local produce, homemade products, crafts, entertainment (for young and old), and friends.
 

Clinch River Days Festival

2014 marks the 16th anniversary of The annual Clinch River Festival, opening with a reception at St. Paul’s RR Museum. Photography and art works of renowned local artists are exhibited and the Heart of Southwest Virginia Community Orchestra performs an outside concert on the lawn. Then the banks of the Clinch River in St. Paul's park come alive with entertainment, vendors, wine tasting, music venues, Civil War re-enactors, games, competitions, exhibitions and a whole lot of fun.
 

Annual 5.5K Trail Challenge

The Annual 5.5K Trail Challenge Run/Walk is held in May. The USA Track & Field (USATF) measured and certified the course for this race.The course runs along the Sugar Hill Loop Trail beginning at Oxbow Lake dam. www.blueridgeraces.com

 

 

Clinch River
Tri-Athlon

A special event held in conjunction with the Clinch River Festival, in May and is a Kayak, Bike, Run race starting and ending at Oxbow Lake benefits St. Paul's own Wetlands Estonoa.  Estonoa is a world renouned place-based, student initiated outdoor learning center and wildlife preserve.

 

Annual Zombie Prom/Walk


Finally a Prom for the entire family! Each October, town folk and out-a-towners dig up a date and head to the Zombie Prom... in good weather, beware of the zombies on the street as well! Fun, games, music and a great group of alive undead to celebrate the scary season in St. Paul! This event is hosted by the Friends of the Library as a fund raiser for several other events and activities throughout the year.

 

 

 

 
Pickin' In The Park*

Pickin' has moved to Ma & Pa's on Hwy 58A, just down the road in Castlewood. Local musicians show off their talents for the jam session. Come and join us to listen and dance to the fabulous music by our local artists.
 

  
Independence Day Fest

Plan on spending the entire day in St. Paul with events for kids and adults, refreshments, the Farmers' Market and much more. To end the day with a bang, enjoy the annual fireworks display.
 
 
Russell County Fair

The Fair is a premiere event for SW Virginia. Held at the fairgrounds in Castlewood, Virginia. From Bluegrass music to truck pulls, from bull riding and the demolition derby, then back to the carnival midway (with a whole lot of fun in between), there's something for everyone at the fair. www.russellcountyfair.com 
 
The Fall Arts Fest

The Fall Arts Festival is held annually in September in downtown St. Paul.Many activities and a day of fun is promised for one and all.Activities typically included apple butter making, pumpkin painting for the kids, costume contests, pet costume contests, quilt show, face painting, pony rides, wood carving, crocheted items, painted glass and jewelry, fire truck rides, antique farm tools, wreaths, popcorn, storytelling, cake walk, and old time bluegrass music and a wooly worm contest.
 
 
Appalachian Heritage Fall Festival

An annual experience held in downtown St. Paul celebrating the rich Appalachian culture and heritage. 2013 included a special Farmers Market, cornmeal grinding, applebutter stir-off, pumpkin decorating, dancing in the streets, train rides through town, coal heritage exhibit, demos by local artisans, local authors, mountain music, crafts, handmade furniture, food and much more for young and old alike. And don't forget the hayrides! Oh, and the "cash mob!"

St. Paul's annual Christmas Bazaar is a great place to visit friends and neighbors while getting a little early shopping done. Bring your family and help us kick off the Holiday Season. There's sure to be something for everyone at the Bazaar!

 

The Santa Train

Tree Llighting

Hot cocoa, caroling and pictures with Santa! Plan to join your friends and neighbors at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in downtown St. Paul. The event typically takes place the first Friday in December. Mark your calendars.Santa will arrive to hand out treats to all the kids and the Town will provide free hot chocolate, popcorn and cookies.

 

St. Paul Christmas Parade**

The annual Christmas Parade is the official event kicking off the Christmas Season here in St. Paul. Floats, bands, horses, classic cars, and a lot of surprises await parade-goers along the route through St. Paul... And, if you like candy... you're definitely in for a treat or several!
